Leave It to the "Busy" Beavers

Today the kids and I had a SUPER long day...

First things first, obviously moving stuff of course.  My mom and I loaded up the kids to take all the cleaning supplies and living essentials I bought over to the new place, and while we were there we measured all the windows for new blinds, and I do mean "we".  Cooper LOVES tools and one of his favorites is a tape measure so that was the highlight of his morning.

Then we took off to Home Depot and got everything we measured for including a 104" x 84" vertical blind for the kids' room that we had to "jimmy rig" through the car to get it home. THEN drove all the way back out to the house to drop everything off thinking we'd have time to unpack and sort through some stuff, but 'no', it was already almost time for cousin's Christian's birthday party, so that was next...

And the kiddos had a blast.  They don't get to play with other kids all too often, so that was exciting for them.  The played in the backyard and Chloe stepped in dog poo... (my life revolves around poo I swear.  Kid poo, mouse poo, dog poo... LOL)  Got that taken care of and things went pretty smoothly after that.  Chloe shoved back and forth with cousin McKenna for a spot right in front of Christian while he was opening presents, and Cooper just sneaked around back and stole one of Christian's new toys LOL  And poor Brodie is exhausted because he's never played so long in his life.  He LOVED all the kids and luckily they were all very nice to him and some even played with him too LOL  Oh and Coop and Chlo got to hit a pinata for the first time.  It was hilarious.  Cooper swung a couple times and went straight for the candy of course even though there were like 5 kids trying to take a turn after him.  And Chloe swung and missed a couple times and once she hit it she cheered for herself and gave up like, "Okay. I hit it.  That's it right?" LOL  So overall a good time :)

Now we're home, exhausted, and have to gear up for our big day TOMORROW.  I still feel completely overwhelmed with stuff to do, but as many have told me, I'll just take it one step a time.  Tomorrow we'll be staying the night in our new house, which brings me to my next set of worries....how will the kiddos take their first night in a different house?

We've made it a very positive place to be thus far and every time we've gotten in the car this past week both the big kids ask if we're going to "the new house", AND Chloe even took a poo while we were there today.  I know you're all thinking A) this woman is obsessed with poop and B) what does Chloe pooping have anything to do with liking the new house?  Well, my kids only ever poop at "home" (my parent's house) because that's the only place they're comfortable.  Whenever we go places for the day, errands, shopping, etc. they NEVER poop while we're out and about.  Then of course when we get home all three of them take a crap within 30 minutes of arriving back at the house, SO the fact that Chloe was able to take a poo in the new house shows me that she's comfortable there. LOL  Next time...getting the poo into a TOILET and not a diaper...sigh.

I'll be tackling this with both Coop and Chlo hardcore in coming weeks and months, and I'm sure all of you are very anxious to read about "potty training", right?

Thanks for checking in everyone!

Blogging Equals Procrastination

This morning I'm keeping myself from tackling the giant disaster that is "all my stuff".  Ugh.

We got the keys to our new place um....three days ago I think...and we've begun moving stuff little by little everyday since.  We've essentially moved all our unnecessary items, like all our kitchen stuff that was still in boxes, and large furniture items we don't need to get by day to day.  Everything's just kind of "sitting" around in our new place.  Haven't unpacked anything yet.

But I did finish cleaning the kitchen cabinets and drawers and laying contact paper down.  Wahoo!  The first day I went to clean I found mouse droppings in some of the drawers (which of course got bleached the crap out of), but Coop asked what I was doing, so I told him I was cleaning the "mouse poop".  Now he's running around saying, "There's a mouse in my new house." LOL I haven't seen one yet, but I guess we'll be getting mouse traps here very quickly LOL

Now we've got half our stuff in my parent's house and half our stuff in the new place.  The big problem is all the stuff at my parent's house is EVERYWHERE right now.  We have two rooms and a bathroom occupied, each half empty.  I've got toys everywhere, papers everywhere, CLOTHES everywhere (Yeah. I've got to do laundry in the middle of this...LOL), and just a bunch of random stuff.  I'm thinking I just need to grab several boxes and several garbage bags and hit up one room at a time.

Which is I guess is what I'm off to do.  The kiddos are having their morning juice and cartoons, so let's see how much I can get done while they're "busy".

Well I know it's not much, but that's what we're up to this morning.  Thanks for checking in and wish me luck!! :D

Movin' Out

As many of you know, Josh and I (and our little ones) have been living with my parents for over two years now.  At first this was a "temporary" move for financial reasons, but it has since become semi-permanent and we've gotten settled in.  We had even decided to finish the basement and move downstairs.

But...as I'm sure everyone's experienced at one point or another, things come up.  We've inched away at the basement piece by piece, but progress is slow and things just keep coming up.  Completing the basement quickly has placed a lot of stress on everyone in the house and everyone wants it done, especially now that we've added TWO children to our family since we moved in.  It's a little bit tight around here.  I know I for one need my space, so...

We're moving out!  Yep.  We've found a place to rent within our budget and still close to home and even closer to Josh's work.  We're renting a small trailer just south of Strasburg.  It's older and belonged to an older couple for quite awhile, so it was well kept.  It has three bedrooms (one being a master with attached bath) and two bathrooms, and is the perfect size for us.  It's big enough for our family, but small enough that I won't be spending 90% of my day cleaning.  Yay!

So we plan to move out this coming weekend, February 26th-27th, and we'll we on our own again!  It is of course a difficult seperation since we've grown so accustomed to being here and our kids have become so used to being with their grandparents all the time.  I know the kids will miss it here and my parents will miss them (and hopefully us too...LOL), but luckily we'll be VERY close and can visit often.

Don't know yet if this will be a permanent move out, or if we'll be back for the basement someday, but for now we're jumping in with both feet and we'll just have to see what the future holds!

Thanks for reading everybody!

Welcome!

Welcome everyone!

I've created this blog as a place to share all my wonderfuly mommy adventures.  The fun, the excitement, the meltdowns, and the blowouts...

I'm a stay-at-home-mom to three wonderful little ones, Cooper, Chloe and Brodie.  As of right now, Cooper is almost three, Chloe is two, and Brodie is 10 months.  Of course they can by handful, but they're a joy to be with everyday.

So...please stay tuned for posts of adventures to come...
