The Potty Project: Part IX "PlayPlace Freak Out"

Mission: Potty Training
Target: Cooper Poston
Status: Finalizing...

Today we made an impromptu trip to Daddy's work to hang out with him over his lunch break.  He works a split shift so he has a two hour lunch from 10:30am-12:30pm.  Usually he does his crazy hard P90X workout during that time, then showers and gets re-dressed for work. Well today he forgot his gym shorts, so I thought, "Hey. What the heck. We'll just head up there."  So we picked him up and decided to take the kids to McDonald's.  I love it because it's fast and relatively cheap.  Luckily the one closest to the airport has a play place, so we really got to make the most of Daddy's lunch break and the kids got to play a little.

So Josh and I were just sitting next to the playplace watching the kids, when Josh said he had to use the bathroom then was going to run out to the car to grab his cell phone.  Okay, fine.  No biggy.  Well immediately after he leaves Cooper comes running up to me and says, "Mommy! I have to go pee pee!"  Normally he asks to go pee pee with a relatively good amount of time to spare, but because he'd been playing and was distracted he had waited until the VERY last minute and was doing the "potty dance".  I could tell by his behavior that this was an "emergency".

Now normally I'm pretty calm, cool, and collected, but I start to freak out just a little because A) the only restroom I saw was on the complete other end of the restaurant, B) I don't have a change of clothes for Cooper if he doesn't make it, and C) I can't just leave Brodie and Chloe in the play area by themselves and Chloe's little monkey butt is all the way at the tippy top of the jungle gym.  So I scoop up Brodie and start hollaring for Chloe to get out of there. Cooper has me by my other hand and starts to take off, pulling me with him.  I'm thinking, "Oh great.  We're not gonna make it." I turned to see where he was dragging me, and it turned out my little smarty pants 3 year old had spotted a bathroom RIGHT there in the play area, which I conveniently missed due to my state of panic LOL. Thank goodness it was right there because we were absolutely NOT going to make it.  Chloe hadn't even budged LOL

So I ran to open the door for him and he made it to the potty with only seconds to spare.  Another, "close one" LOL  I just stood there in the doorway with the door open, so I could watch him and the other two kids at the same time.  Hopefully this "open door policy" wasn't offensive to anyone, but hey, a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. LOL Then of course Josh finally walked back in, Cooper finished up, and all the kids got to resume play.

It's just funny because I really take my wonderful hubby for granted sometimes.  The majority of the time we go out as a family and I don't usually take all three kids somewhere by myself, so I'm used to having the help and I don't always realize just what a huge help my hubby really is even if it just means keeping an eye on the other kids while I run to the bathroom, so once again I have to give props to my Joshy for being a wonderful father and true family man. I truly am a very lucky woman. <3

Anyway, my little "freak out" was quite humorous especially for those bi-standers who got to observe me running around like a chicken with my head cut off with a baby on my hip, a toddler holding my hand, and screaming up the side of the play area for my other little one to "Come down now please! Bubba has to pee!"  It all turned out okay in the end and we left McDonald's accident free, well sort of, because as soon as we went to leave Cooper went to open the PlayPlace "exit" door, which appeared to be an exit, but really wasn't and we set off the McDonald's alarm system.  O_O   Yikes! LOL  Always an adventure, always.   That's what I love about my amazing little family.  Never a dull moment :)

Anyway, that's it for this potty update.  Thanks for checking in everyone!

Kid Quotes (# 12)

So I was sitting on the toilet peeing and Cooper comes running into the bathroom holding his pee pee, so I ask, "Do you have to pee?"  He says, "Yeah!" and proceeds to throw up the potty training seat cover, throw the ring out and take aim at the bucket.  He turns his head toward me and says,

"That was a close one!"

:)

Up. Up. Updates!

I've been absent from the blog scene for a little while because, as most of you know from my pitiful status updates, I've been sick.  Everyone in my family has been sick, as I've mentioned in previous blogs.  The kids are all on antibiotics now and seem to be improving.  My mom and Josh are still hanging on to the cough and some of the crud, but I thought I'd avoided it altogether.  Nope.

Pretty much all last weekend I was freezing cold (which is pretty typical for me anyway) and I was exhausted, but I tried to at least stay awake because my grandpa was in town from Florida and I didn't want to sleep the day away.  I was so tired that we even left a party early on Saturday night.  We'd been planning to go to this party together for like a month and a half and were both really excited about it because mom was watching the kids and Josh was off the next day for Father's Day, so we both thought we'd have a big night out.  Well we got there a little after 9:30pm I'd say and ended up leaving around midnight because I was tired and just didn't fell well.  So all day Sunday I was exhausted, but like I said I tried to tough it out and same with Monday, but I think I finally caved in and napped on Monday.

On Tuesday morning, after an awesome visit and good converstation, it was time for my grandpa to head back to Florida so I drove him to the airport.  I definitely felt like I was coming down with something, but I was still functioning fairly well.  Oh, except for taking him into the "arrivals" area, not just once, but almost twice.  We had to loop back around the first time and then I almost did it again and my grandpa had to point me in the right direction.  That's how "out of it" I felt LOL I've been to that airport a MILLION times picking up Josh from work for lunch etc.  Anyway, he had an early flight so I got back home about 5:30am and went back to sleep until 8:30am.  It was Josh's day off so I got to sleep in :)  But when I woke up I seriously felt like a train ran over me.  People have said that to me before, like when I worked at Kaiser, but I always kind of shrugged it off thinking they were just being babies, but no.  That's what it really feels like.  Every bone, muscle, and joint in my body was killing me, and my ears, neck and throat hurt so bad.  I had no energy and just laid in bed all day.  Josh had to help me in and out just for me to go to the bathroom.  It was pathetic LOL

Anyway, yesterday my throat, ears, and neck hurt worse than I've ever felt in my whole life, so I went to the doctor for a strep culture, but it was negative, and this morning my throat is a little better and I now have a full blown head cold, so it turns out it was just the worst ever start of a cold.  It's probably because I avoided it for over a month, so of course it had to come on full force and take me out.  The "hit by a train" feeling is mostly gone and I'm semi-functioning today.  I'll probably try to do some laundry and pick up a little, but that's about it.  Otherwise, just wait for my amazing husband to come home.

He has been so wonderful these past few days.  Well he's always wonderful, but extra wonderful while I've been sick.  I don't really know how he even deals with me.  You know those scenes from a movie when a women just lays in bed and rings a bell every five minutes for someone to get her something?  Yeah, that was me.... "Babe.  Babe.  Baby!" just about every five minutes LOL  And on top of tending to me he took care of the little ones as well.  Made sure they each got their antibiotics twice a day, meals, diaper changes, baths, playing outside, riding the tractor, etc.  Of course he does most of these things on a daily basis anyway, but he was just extra attentive to all our needs over the last few days, so I just have to give him props and I'm so extremely lucky to have one of the few remaining "good guys" as my husband.  I love you baby <3

And of course my parents and my little ones have been helping out too.  My dad watched Brodie for me for a little bit while I slept and Josh was at the store getting me medicine, and my mom made me homemade chicken nooodle soup.  Cooper took my temp for me in my inner elbow, which I'm sure most of you read was 326.  LOL He uses that for everything.  Anything that would require saying a number, like when he measures stuff with a tape measure, is 326.  Then last night the big kids brought me "dinner" in bed.  It was a pot full of Mr. Potato parts. Yummy! LOL And Chloe gave me one of her baby dolls to rest with.  Not her favorite one, but one of them LOL

She's obsessed with her babies lately.  She has two, one boy and one girl that she carries around everywhere and feeds 'em, and burps 'em (one actually makes a burping sound), and puts 'em to sleep when she goes to sleep.  It's adorable!

And Brodie's doing great as well.  His vocabulary is really taking off and he's at the point where is attempting to say at least one, sometimes two new words a day.  Now they don't always come out correctly, but he tries to say it, which counts for me :)  The other morning he woke up in his crib, stood up and was yelling "UP" at me from across the room.  Too cute.  He's still extremely bow legged which people always comment on, but it's because he started walking at 10 1/2 months and should correct itself over time, which is what I try to explain to people but it's still a little funny to see.  Oh and he is really started to come into his little personality and tries to show off all the time now.  He'll come into the room and start waddling like a penguin to get everyones attention.  I don't know how to really explain well, but it's just hilarious.  And dancing.  He loves dancing.  His "dancing" is kind of similar to his waddling except with a little more "swagger".  It acutally looks like dancing.  I need to take a video of it.  You know how most kids look kind of uncoordinated and sillly?  Not Bro.  It actually looks like dancing. America's Best Dance Crew better look out! LOL

Ok well I really didn't mean to throw myself a pity party LOL or for this to go on this long, so if you've stuck it out to the end, thanks for reading and checking in!

Kid Quotes (# 11) "Doggy Doo"

(WARNING:  This blog is rated PG (poop graphic) as it contains material regarding....poop.)

The kids were playing outside and Josh went out to check on them.  Cooper says, "Daddy I poop."  Josh asks, "Oh no. You pooped your pants?"  Cooper, "No. I poop outside.  Over here." (walks Josh over to where he pooped..."

Cooper, "Uh oh.  Poop gone.  Doggy ate it."

Yes ladies and gentleman.  My son pooped outside and now the whereabouts of the poop are unknown.  Considering Cooper doesn't lie (hasn't learned to yet LOL), I'm going to go ahead and say it's pretty likely that the dog ate it.  *BARF*

"Don't Make Me Pull Over"

Everyone remembers their mom saying that at least once in their life.  "Don't make me pull this car over!"  Well, today that was me.  First time every having to "pull over" while driving. LOL  Cooper the sneak little rascal, has discovered how to unbuckle his seat belt AND Brodie's car seat.  He was tired this morning and in a terrible mood and continued to keep unbuckling the seat belts, so after many warnings we had to pull over, Josh got out, got Cooper out, and they had a talk on the side of the road LOL While they were out there Chloe kept saying, "Bubba bad boy.  Bubba buckle seat belt." Needless to say this was very effective and Cooper kept his seat belt buckled all the way to town :)  See, no need to spank people, no need to spank. (By the way we were pulled over in a very remote area so there were absolutely no cars driving by or heavy traffic etc., just to clarify LOL)

Anyway, we were on our way to town for a full day's worth of errands.  First we went to meet Grandma for lunch.  We went for chinese.   The big kids got to eat with chopsticks and Brodie devoured his chicken lo mein like he hadn't eaten in months LOL  After that we took off to America's Best to pick up daddy's glasses which, luckily, were ready.  We dropped daddy off to go inside and Cooper immediately asked to go get "chicken and fries" which is chicken nuggets and french fries even though we JUST ate.  Last week after we dropped Josh off for his appt we went to McDonald's because we hadn't eaten eat yet, so of course Cooper remembers EVERYTHING so immediately thought, "Well we're dropping dad off at the eye glass place so now it's time for chicken and fries".  So...me being the sucker that I am, I took them across the street to Burger King and got them chicken nuggets and fries, which the hardly ate any of of course LOL

Afterward (the main event for the day) we had a doctor's appt for Brodie.  All of my kids have been fighting off colds for about a month now.  I think I mentioned in the last blog that they all got colds mid May, had them for a little less than two weeks, then they started to go away, then they came back with a vengence.  Well the big kids are fighting it pretty well, but Brodie's little cough WILL NOT go away, so I made him an appt, and the doc prescribed him antibiotics.  Come to find out he has NEVER had antibiotics, so he made it an entire 13 months without getting sick enough for meds, which pleases me greatly because I am NOT a fan of antibiotics and think they're WAY over used by some people and WAY over prescribed by some doctors.  For some reason there are some people who, as soon as they get the sniffles, think they need antibiotics.  Um, no.  That's actually the exact WRONG thing to do.  Most colds or cold like symptoms, even when severe, are the result of a virus which CANNOT be treated with antibiotics.  If you have a cold virus and take antibiotics they will not help.  They'll do the opposite of help actually.  If you take antibiotics everytime you're sick your body will begin to build up an immunity to antibiotics over time and then when you finally DO need antibiotics they'll have to prescribe stronger and stronger ones because you've built up that immunity.  So...there's my "mini" medical rant, but anyway, Brodie now has his first ever course of antibiotics and I'm hoping he feels better soon.  She said his ears, lungs, and throat were clear, so no ear infection, pneumonia, or strep, but just due to the duration of the cough he gets the antibiotics.  Also, he weighs almost 24 lbs now :)

After that the kids wanted ice cream, so we took them to Dairy Queen (chinese, chicken nuggest, fries and ice cream....wow mom...).  Bro was asleep, but the big kids got to come in with me and they were of course mistaken for twins again. LOL I swear we get asked if they're twins AT LEAST once every time we're out, usually closer to two or three times.  First people assume they're twins, then when we say 'no' they assume Chloe's older.  Not sure why though...hmmm.

Errands continue and we then went to the bank where I was actually VERY pleased with the teller.  We went to the drive up, but we could see the teller in the window and she could see our kids in the back.  Not only did she send out three suckers for them, but she treated us like a normal family and didn't bat an eye or so word in regards to the fact that we had a car full of three young kids.  We get the absolute strangest looks whenever we're in public, like people have never seen "a large family".  And not just looks, comments too.  I know most people mean nothing by it, but I still like to mess with them.  It's in my personality.  *insert evil laugh*  If I ever take all three kids somewhere without Josh (usually I'm with my mom) and a cashier says, "Wow!  You've got your hands full!"  I will respond with, "Yeah.  Now if I can only figure out who the dads are..."  Gets 'em every time.  LOL

After that we finished up the day by dropping by this wonderful park/fountain water park on the way home to let the kids play.  The big kids jumped right in, but Bro was afraid of the wood chips and would not leave solid ground...

On the flip side, when we went to the water part, it was Bro that was most interested in participating and Coop and Chlo that wanted nothing to do with the water LOL

Oh, and Cooper got to "pump" the gas LOL

Anyway, we FINALLY headed home and of course all the kiddos passed out on the car ride home.  Now daddy is exercising and mommy is blogging.  No wonder he's lost damn near 100lbs and I still look...like this LOL  He's losing inches and I'm gaining secretary spread... ;-)  Well, thanks for checking ladies and gents!  Be back soon with more Poston updates!

Kid Quotes (# 10 ) "Rejection..."

Backseat convo on the car ride to town today...

Cooper-"Hey Doughy.  You lika doe on a date?"
(Translation-"Hey Chloe. Would you like to go on a date?")

Chloe's response, "No."

Rejected LOL

I think he got this "date" idea a couple weeks ago when Josh and I went on a "date" to the movies.  That kid just soaks stuff up and it sticks with him, then he randomly repeats it when the mood strikes.  Genius. LOL

Don't Mess with the Postons

Hey everyone. First off, I just wanted to post our T-Ball schedule for any family or friends that wanted to come to a game (I knew of you have expressed interest).  All the games are at Lyons Park in Strasburg (by the railroad tracks) except for the last game which will be at the South Softball Field.  They'll be recieving their trophy's/awards at this game :)  We have a bye week, so no game on June 24th.  Anyway, here is the schedule with game times:

June 10-7:00pm vs Orange Team
June 17-5:30pm vs Purple Team
July 1-5:30pm vs Green Team
July 8-6:15pm vs Black Team
July 15-6:15pm vs Blue Team (FINAL GAME AND AWARDS)

Everything else is going very well.  Basement is coming along nicely.  This week my dad hung and secured all the kitchen cabinets, we got the stove in place, and got the refridgerator running.  Next we need to hang the microwave above the stove, pick out a sink and faucet, buy a dishwasher, and install countertop, then the kitchen is DONE. Wahoo!

(The space above the stove is for the microwave and venting system, then the empty space on the side will be the dishwasher.  We'll probably put a hanging plant or something there in the corner and maybe a mirror of some sorts above the sink...Not sure yet.  Oh and I know it looks like the cabinets are high, but it's a drop ceiling so they're actually lower than normal.  I think it just looks that way because the countertop and backsplash isn't there yet to take up some of that space.)

Kids are doing great as well.  Yesterday we got to get out of the house for a bit.  We finally went to get Josh a new pair of glasses.  His broke over a week ago, but we hadn't a chance to get to the eye doctor.  We have shitty coverage through his work with Kaiser, so he convinced me to let him go to America's Best.  With my Kaiser plan when I was working we got $20 eye exams and we were GIVEN $150 towards new eyewear.  Boy did I take that for granted.  We still get $20 eye exams with Josh's benefits, but all the eyeware would be out of pocket and Kaiser's glasses are really expensive (at least from what I've seen).  Anyway, I don't mean to sound like a shameless plug or anything, but we went to America's Best and got two COMPLETE pairs of glasses (frams and lenses) and a FREE eye exam all for $70 total.  No gimmicks or add ons, so he should be getting his glasses next week.

Afterward, we were right over by the mall so we took the kids to the play area.  It's always hit or miss in that place.  The very first time we went it was FULL of bratty kids and non-attentive parents, but the last couple times we've gone it's been great.  This time was full of brats again.  I'm going to go on a little rant here, so bare with me...

For starters, the play area is meant for like 5 year olds and under.  It doesn't specify "5 years" exactly, but there is a height recommendation and based on the height given and the size of the play equipment, it's clearly for kids under 5-ish.  Well there was a family there consisting of multiple families within a family with like 6 kids total, the youngest of which was like 9 years old.  They all seemed about the same age, like 9, 10, 11 ish.  They were running all over place chasing each other and playing tag.  Mind you not only were my three little ones there, but Brodie was also playing and at least three other 1 year olds.  Sorry, but in my opinion that's inappropriate and it's on the parents.  The play area is clearly for younger children and if that many toddlers and babies are playing then you need to take your big kids elsewhere or at least tell them to slow down and be careful.

Anyway, I could kind of deal with that to an extent and as the play area started to fill up the stopped the game of tag (whether is was because there was no room or they just grew tired of it, I don't know).  So at one point three of the "siblings" were playing in front of this stationary car toy.  They weren't using the toy or playing in it, they were just playing in front of it on the floor.  Not even touching it actually, just to be clear, and again these kids are about 9 or 10 years old.  Well Chloe went over and begun climbing into the car (I was watching) and when the kids saw her they quickly jumped up, jumped into the car before she could climb all way in, and yelled at her, "THIS IS OUR CAR!".  The girl even went as far as to put her hand on Chloe's chest and push a little as to stop her from continuing to climb in.  Then yelled, "GO PLAY IN A DIFFERENT CAR!"  Chloe climbed down and started to walk away, so I went over there.  The children's parents and the other relatives (all adults) that were with them were all on their cell phones jacking around and not paying a single bit of attention to what their children were doing.  I'm sorry, but just because your kids are occupied doesn't mean you get a "parenting time out" and can do whatever you want for an hour.  That's not how it works.  So since the parents didn't give a damn I said something.  I took Chloe by the hand, looked at the kids and said, "That's not nice.  You need to learn to share" and Chloe and I walked away.  The kids stayed over there and didn't mess with her the rest of the time we were there, which wasn't long because the kids were pretty tired by this point, so we decided to head home, and they all passed out within 10 minutes of being in the car LOL

Well that was my little rant. Don't mess with my kids people! LOL  Thanks for checking in with us everyone!

The Potty Project: Part VIII "Potty Princess"

Mission: Potty Training
Mission Target: Chloe Poston
Mission Status: IN PROGRESS...

Yes ladies and gentlemen, Chloe is officially potty training again.  Just as of today.  Actually, it was a bit of an accident (no pun intended)...

The big kids escaped outside first thing this morning wanting to play and ride bikes.  I kept checking on them of course and it seemed like everytime mom or I went out there they had lost another piece of clothing LOL  Cooper still had his diaper on from bed time, so he eventually took that off, and Chloe of course had her diaper on which she took of too, so eventually Cooper only a shirt on and Chloe was walking around butt naked, which was fine, but then they wanted to play in the goat pen, which of couse is filthly, full or dirt and hay, so mom came to tell me she was in there. I was going to get her a diaper, but Brodie was sleeping in his crib in the toy room which is where the diapers are and with as cranky as he's been there was no way I was going to risk waking him up, so I just grabbed a pair of Cooper boxer briefs to put on her thinking that'd she'd probably have an accident outside and I'd just clean her up.  Oh 'me' of little faith....

She played outside with Cooper and the goats for a good hour I'd say without an accident before coming downstairs to help work on our basement house.  Then she played down there for another hour or so again without an accident until she told me she's, "Ready to sit a bed" which is what she says when she's tired and ready for a nap.  Surprisingly Brodie was STILL sleeping (yes two or so hours later), so I still didn't have a diaper for her.  Well now that we have a working toilet downstairs I said, "Ok.  Let's go pee pee on the potty then you can sit a bed", so I took her to the potty and set her up there and....SHE PEED!  Yay!

Of course she can all sorts of cheers from mommy and Grammie and Papa and then she got her real reward; she got to go to bed.  This girl LOVES going to bed. Seriously LOL  Anyway, my plan was to eventually put a diaper on after she feel asleep, but I decided to wing it and just leave her alone.  I didn't want to wake her, so I thought I'd just keep a sharp ear out for when she woke and make sure to get her out of the bed right away before she peed.

Which is what I did.  We all decided to go to lunch, so I kept checking on her ever few minutes to see if she was awake yet, and when she was a went over to her and told her not to pee pee in her princess pants (that's what I call her underwear) and asked her if she wanted to go on the potty and she said she did, so....we went potty AGAIN.  Twice in one day!

After that I got her dressed for lunch, but she insisted on wearing her princess pants and not a diaper so I got her a pair of her Minnie Mouse underwear which she wore to lunch.  She drank her whole cup of chocolate milk so about 10 minutes later I asked her if she needed to go potty and she said she did, so she went at the restaurant!  Yes, she went potty in PUBLIC!  After that we got back to the table and about 10 minutes later she started getting really cranky and seemed uncomfortable. I didn't know what was wrong, but she eventually said, "Me pee pee princess pants", so I thought she'd had an accident, but when I picked her up she was still dry, so I took her back to the bathroom and she peed AGAIN.  She was acting uncomfortable because she didn't want to pee in her pants, so now I know how to tell when she has to pee :)

After that we went to the dollar store and then headed home and I put her on the potty again as soon as we got here and she went AGAIN, so she's used the potty all day long today.  Up until I didn't really think she was ready, but I guess I needed to have a little more faith in her and just jump in feet first.

Now that Cooper is pretty much potty trained and needs less and less "attention" potty wise, I can focus more energy on Chloe and making sure I take her to the potty and ask her if she has to go, etc. so hopefully from now on she'll just do better and better and better.

Well that's it for this potty update. Just had to share how extremely proud I am of our little princess! Thanks for checking in and I'll be back with more potty updates as they come.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We are back from the kids' first T-Ball game!  Of course their all pooped out and in bed, so mommy gets to do her blog!

First off, it was hilarious.  Bottom line.  Two, three and four year olds playing "baseball"...too funny.

Game was at 7pm and as soon as we stepped onto the "field" Cooper says, "Hey.  They needa mow." LOL  Which they DID.  Felt like walking through a forest LOL We got there a little early to pick up their t-shirts.   They're on the red team, so of course we dressed them accordingly.

After we got their shirts there was already a pee wee game in progress before us, the purple and orange teams, so we got to watch a little and get the idea of it would work.  Each of the two teams had about 6-8 (I didn't really count) little tikes on it and each team took turns batting and fielding.  Each team got two turns at bat and two turns at field.

Fielding consisted of parents and their little ones in the field waiting for a ball to be hit.  Once a ball was hit the kids would run up, grab it, and take it back to the tee, so there were no "outs", which I thought was great.  Some parents wanted to teach their little ones the fundamentals of course so instead of taking the ball to home, they had the ball taken to first base a couple times and they still tried to "tag" some kids out  (Chloe being one of them...grrr.) but "tagged" kids stayed in play anyway.  They're 2 and 3 years old. Sheesh.  Anyway, as the kids took turns batting everyone would run from base to base with each hit, so everyone got to make it all the way around the field.  Well those kids that didn't get distracted by the park less than 15 yards away...See while the kids were fielding the ball, parents were "fielding" their kids and trying to keep them in play LOL

Their first play Coop and Chlo were in the field and Cooper "caught" the first two balls hit and brought it to the base, but Chlo wanted nothing to do with that.  Then when they got to hit of course they got excited and were all about that part of it.  By the "2nd inning" Cooper was the one who got disinterested and Chloe now wanted to do all the fielding.  Unfortunately she's a little bit of a slow runner and couldn't get to the ball as quickly as the boys.  One time she went for a hit ball and almost had it, but one of the older boys made it there just a second before her and got it, so she just started crying this most pathetic little cry, so of course mommy consoled her in the middle of the field LOL

(After she "missed" the ball)

(Fielding...)

So since they were first to field, the were last to bat and by the time they were done batting the second time they were ready to be "done" altogether.  They lined up and "shook hands" with the other team and then they got their snack :)  Chloe was nice enough to share with Brodie, but Cooper just booked it straight over to the park LOL

(Brodie sharing Sissy's snack)

They got to play at the park for a little bit, but by this time it was rounding on 8 o'clock, so we had to rush them a little.  Cooper had yet to use the potty and didn't go before we left home so I made the mistake of taking him into the portable potty...Bad idea.  He tried to touch EVERYTHING.  I got him to pee in the main potty and aim for the blue water in the bottom, which worked great until he put his hand INSIDE the urinal to steady himself to pull his pants up...Blah! Then he says, "I needa wash my hands...Hey. Where's the sink?!"  Luckily daddy had sanitizer in the car, but not before he started eating Chloe's crackers. YUCK! Thankfully he was putting them is mouth with the opposite hand that he'd touched the potty with, so hopefully we're semi clear of germs...  We finally got the sanitizer on and got them loaded up and headed home.

They had a great time and so did Mommy and Daddy, and Ma'am-ma and Papa and little Bro, who got to run free and play with Papa the whole time.  They'll have games every Friday and I'm sure, now that they know what to expect, next week will be even better attention span wise at least...hopefully. LOL  But we did end up with some great pics thanks to Ma'am-ma!

Well that's all for this update, so thanks for checking in everyone! See ya soon!

Kid Quotes (#9)

Yesterday Cooper came up to me with the Swiffer Sweeper Vac and says, "Hey mom? You gonna vacuum?" I responded, "Huh?  Am I gonna vacuum?" sort of confused like, but he quickly clarified for me...

"Yeah. You vacuum. It a mess in here."

Ready to Rumble

Pee Wee T-Ball is finally starting!  The kids' first game is tomorrow night at 7pm, and I think we're all set!  The coach called and told us that both Cooper and Chloe will be on the red team, and we got them each a glove.  The sign-up lady said they probably wouldn't need gloves, but I they're just too adorable to pass up.  I doubt they'll even really use them, but they'll look cute LOL  We also bought a T-Ball stand to practice with and tried to go out and play yesterday, but it's was kind of a bust thanks to the wonderful wind.  The wind kept blowing the ball of the stand before the kids could even swing it.  They got the jist of it though and they both wore their gloves and Cooper even caught and threw a ball! Yay!  Anyway, as you can tell we're really excited and I'm sure I'll be taking tons of pictures and videos to share! :)

(Their gloves)

(And this is Brodie wearing one of Cooper's old hats. So sweet!  This is probably what he'll get to wear to the T-Ball game since Bro and Sis are on the "red" team hehe)

Everything else is going well.  We've been working a lot on the basement since moving back in with my parents and things are coming along great.  We've got the floor put in in the bathroom and kitchen; the bathroom now has working plumbing, a toilet, and a washer and dryer; we got the stove and the fridge put into the kitchen (No dishwasher yet. We still have to buy a dishwasher, but it's all ready for setup); and we have all the bottom cabinets lined out they way they'll be set up, so the kitchen almost looks complete except for mounting everything and installing a sink.  After we put the final touches on the kitchen and basement we'll have an entire half complete!  Then the other half is just living room and a bedroom, so it only needs flooring.

Progress:

(My dorky husband...LOL And you can see the tub in the background. Still needs faucet and tub surround.)

The kids are doing wonderfully as well.  I believe all the teeth Brodie was cutting have come in or are at least partially in, so he has 12 teeth now!  He's still having a rough time sleeping at night thanks to this ridiculous cold that's sticking around.  They were all three sick with runny noses about 2 weeks ago and just got over it a few days ago, so it lasted about 10 days.  They were all free and clear for approx one whole day and the damn thing came back with a vengence and brought along a  friend...a yucky cough, so now they have runny noses AND a cough.  No other symptoms though.  No fever or anything.  They're not even acting sick.Hopefully they'll be getting over it soon though so we can all get a little more sleep LOL

Oh and my parents got two new baby goats whom they kids just LOVE.  They've been asking to get in the pen and play with them everyday.  They're two boys, but we named them Lilo and Stitch.  The all black one got to be Stitch because he's really ornery LOL  Anyway, the kids have been going in their and feeding them and playing with them.  We determined Chloe liked their food when she came inside the house with her breath smelling like caramel and we deduced she had eaten the mix which has molasses on it LOL  Crazy girl.

Here they are: (Cooper my little rancher LOL)

And speaking of farming and ranching, Cooper has now taken to driving the lawn tractor around by himself.  I have some super cute videos that Josh took, but they take forever to upload, so maybe I can get them on here soon.  Anyway, we put in in "turtle" mode (the speed choices are labeled tiny turtle to large rabbit LOL) and we keep the blade up of course and just let him cruise around.  He does great and just thinks it's the funnest thing EVER.

Only bad thing about Cooper's love of farm toys is that we have to hide all the keys from him because he knows how to start everything on his own.  The day I went to take the kids for a ride on the 4-wheeler and Coop was sitting in front of me. I turned to Josh and said, "I don't know how to start this..." and Coop goes, "No worry. Me do it." and he turns the key, holds down the start button, gives it gas and it starts right up. Mommy's been schooled LOL

Well I guess that's about it for now.  Just a quick little update on the house and the kiddos.  Thanks for checking in and I'll be back soon to fill ya in on their first game!
