Hey everyone. First off, I just wanted to post our T-Ball schedule for any family or friends that wanted to come to a game (I knew of you have expressed interest). All the games are at Lyons Park in Strasburg (by the railroad tracks) except for the last game which will be at the South Softball Field. They'll be recieving their trophy's/awards at this game :) We have a bye week, so no game on June 24th. Anyway, here is the schedule with game times:
June 10-7:00pm vs Orange Team
June 17-5:30pm vs Purple Team
July 1-5:30pm vs Green Team
July 8-6:15pm vs Black Team
July 15-6:15pm vs Blue Team (FINAL GAME AND AWARDS)
Everything else is going very well. Basement is coming along nicely. This week my dad hung and secured all the kitchen cabinets, we got the stove in place, and got the refridgerator running. Next we need to hang the microwave above the stove, pick out a sink and faucet, buy a dishwasher, and install countertop, then the kitchen is DONE. Wahoo!
(The space above the stove is for the microwave and venting system, then the empty space on the side will be the dishwasher. We'll probably put a hanging plant or something there in the corner and maybe a mirror of some sorts above the sink...Not sure yet. Oh and I know it looks like the cabinets are high, but it's a drop ceiling so they're actually lower than normal. I think it just looks that way because the countertop and backsplash isn't there yet to take up some of that space.)
Kids are doing great as well. Yesterday we got to get out of the house for a bit. We finally went to get Josh a new pair of glasses. His broke over a week ago, but we hadn't a chance to get to the eye doctor. We have shitty coverage through his work with Kaiser, so he convinced me to let him go to America's Best. With my Kaiser plan when I was working we got $20 eye exams and we were GIVEN $150 towards new eyewear. Boy did I take that for granted. We still get $20 eye exams with Josh's benefits, but all the eyeware would be out of pocket and Kaiser's glasses are really expensive (at least from what I've seen). Anyway, I don't mean to sound like a shameless plug or anything, but we went to America's Best and got two COMPLETE pairs of glasses (frams and lenses) and a FREE eye exam all for $70 total. No gimmicks or add ons, so he should be getting his glasses next week.
Afterward, we were right over by the mall so we took the kids to the play area. It's always hit or miss in that place. The very first time we went it was FULL of bratty kids and non-attentive parents, but the last couple times we've gone it's been great. This time was full of brats again. I'm going to go on a little rant here, so bare with me...
For starters, the play area is meant for like 5 year olds and under. It doesn't specify "5 years" exactly, but there is a height recommendation and based on the height given and the size of the play equipment, it's clearly for kids under 5-ish. Well there was a family there consisting of multiple families within a family with like 6 kids total, the youngest of which was like 9 years old. They all seemed about the same age, like 9, 10, 11 ish. They were running all over place chasing each other and playing tag. Mind you not only were my three little ones there, but Brodie was also playing and at least three other 1 year olds. Sorry, but in my opinion that's inappropriate and it's on the parents. The play area is clearly for younger children and if that many toddlers and babies are playing then you need to take your big kids elsewhere or at least tell them to slow down and be careful.
Anyway, I could kind of deal with that to an extent and as the play area started to fill up the stopped the game of tag (whether is was because there was no room or they just grew tired of it, I don't know). So at one point three of the "siblings" were playing in front of this stationary car toy. They weren't using the toy or playing in it, they were just playing in front of it on the floor. Not even touching it actually, just to be clear, and again these kids are about 9 or 10 years old. Well Chloe went over and begun climbing into the car (I was watching) and when the kids saw her they quickly jumped up, jumped into the car before she could climb all way in, and yelled at her, "THIS IS OUR CAR!". The girl even went as far as to put her hand on Chloe's chest and push a little as to stop her from continuing to climb in. Then yelled, "GO PLAY IN A DIFFERENT CAR!" Chloe climbed down and started to walk away, so I went over there. The children's parents and the other relatives (all adults) that were with them were all on their cell phones jacking around and not paying a single bit of attention to what their children were doing. I'm sorry, but just because your kids are occupied doesn't mean you get a "parenting time out" and can do whatever you want for an hour. That's not how it works. So since the parents didn't give a damn I said something. I took Chloe by the hand, looked at the kids and said, "That's not nice. You need to learn to share" and Chloe and I walked away. The kids stayed over there and didn't mess with her the rest of the time we were there, which wasn't long because the kids were pretty tired by this point, so we decided to head home, and they all passed out within 10 minutes of being in the car LOL
Well that was my little rant. Don't mess with my kids people! LOL Thanks for checking in with us everyone!

So glad your basement house is coming along, looks great!!! As far as glasses I totally understand! They are SOOO expensive! I started using CoastalContacts.com the only sucky thing about it is you can't try frames on before you buy them.. BUT as far as price very worth it.. plus they have a TON of promotions where you can get select frames for free.. I just got a pair and paid 30 dollars for a designer brand (and that's because I got insurance :-) ) As far as those play areas I agree a 100%!! It drives me crazy when the parents are just doing their own thing and not paying ANY mind to their child! That happened the last time we went and some little kid pushed Graysen Grrr It even happens at our open gymboree classes, moms too busy talking to pay any attention!! haha I could rant too so I understand! Good for you for saying something!
