I've been absent from the blog scene for a little while because, as most of you know from my pitiful status updates, I've been sick. Everyone in my family has been sick, as I've mentioned in previous blogs. The kids are all on antibiotics now and seem to be improving. My mom and Josh are still hanging on to the cough and some of the crud, but I thought I'd avoided it altogether. Nope.
Pretty much all last weekend I was freezing cold (which is pretty typical for me anyway) and I was exhausted, but I tried to at least stay awake because my grandpa was in town from Florida and I didn't want to sleep the day away. I was so tired that we even left a party early on Saturday night. We'd been planning to go to this party together for like a month and a half and were both really excited about it because mom was watching the kids and Josh was off the next day for Father's Day, so we both thought we'd have a big night out. Well we got there a little after 9:30pm I'd say and ended up leaving around midnight because I was tired and just didn't fell well. So all day Sunday I was exhausted, but like I said I tried to tough it out and same with Monday, but I think I finally caved in and napped on Monday.
On Tuesday morning, after an awesome visit and good converstation, it was time for my grandpa to head back to Florida so I drove him to the airport. I definitely felt like I was coming down with something, but I was still functioning fairly well. Oh, except for taking him into the "arrivals" area, not just once, but almost twice. We had to loop back around the first time and then I almost did it again and my grandpa had to point me in the right direction. That's how "out of it" I felt LOL I've been to that airport a MILLION times picking up Josh from work for lunch etc. Anyway, he had an early flight so I got back home about 5:30am and went back to sleep until 8:30am. It was Josh's day off so I got to sleep in :) But when I woke up I seriously felt like a train ran over me. People have said that to me before, like when I worked at Kaiser, but I always kind of shrugged it off thinking they were just being babies, but no. That's what it really feels like. Every bone, muscle, and joint in my body was killing me, and my ears, neck and throat hurt so bad. I had no energy and just laid in bed all day. Josh had to help me in and out just for me to go to the bathroom. It was pathetic LOL
Anyway, yesterday my throat, ears, and neck hurt worse than I've ever felt in my whole life, so I went to the doctor for a strep culture, but it was negative, and this morning my throat is a little better and I now have a full blown head cold, so it turns out it was just the worst ever start of a cold. It's probably because I avoided it for over a month, so of course it had to come on full force and take me out. The "hit by a train" feeling is mostly gone and I'm semi-functioning today. I'll probably try to do some laundry and pick up a little, but that's about it. Otherwise, just wait for my amazing husband to come home.
He has been so wonderful these past few days. Well he's always wonderful, but extra wonderful while I've been sick. I don't really know how he even deals with me. You know those scenes from a movie when a women just lays in bed and rings a bell every five minutes for someone to get her something? Yeah, that was me.... "Babe. Babe. Baby!" just about every five minutes LOL And on top of tending to me he took care of the little ones as well. Made sure they each got their antibiotics twice a day, meals, diaper changes, baths, playing outside, riding the tractor, etc. Of course he does most of these things on a daily basis anyway, but he was just extra attentive to all our needs over the last few days, so I just have to give him props and I'm so extremely lucky to have one of the few remaining "good guys" as my husband. I love you baby <3
And of course my parents and my little ones have been helping out too. My dad watched Brodie for me for a little bit while I slept and Josh was at the store getting me medicine, and my mom made me homemade chicken nooodle soup. Cooper took my temp for me in my inner elbow, which I'm sure most of you read was 326. LOL He uses that for everything. Anything that would require saying a number, like when he measures stuff with a tape measure, is 326. Then last night the big kids brought me "dinner" in bed. It was a pot full of Mr. Potato parts. Yummy! LOL And Chloe gave me one of her baby dolls to rest with. Not her favorite one, but one of them LOL
She's obsessed with her babies lately. She has two, one boy and one girl that she carries around everywhere and feeds 'em, and burps 'em (one actually makes a burping sound), and puts 'em to sleep when she goes to sleep. It's adorable!
And Brodie's doing great as well. His vocabulary is really taking off and he's at the point where is attempting to say at least one, sometimes two new words a day. Now they don't always come out correctly, but he tries to say it, which counts for me :) The other morning he woke up in his crib, stood up and was yelling "UP" at me from across the room. Too cute. He's still extremely bow legged which people always comment on, but it's because he started walking at 10 1/2 months and should correct itself over time, which is what I try to explain to people but it's still a little funny to see. Oh and he is really started to come into his little personality and tries to show off all the time now. He'll come into the room and start waddling like a penguin to get everyones attention. I don't know how to really explain well, but it's just hilarious. And dancing. He loves dancing. His "dancing" is kind of similar to his waddling except with a little more "swagger". It acutally looks like dancing. I need to take a video of it. You know how most kids look kind of uncoordinated and sillly? Not Bro. It actually looks like dancing. America's Best Dance Crew better look out! LOL
Ok well I really didn't mean to throw myself a pity party LOL or for this to go on this long, so if you've stuck it out to the end, thanks for reading and checking in!
