T-Ball Season Comes to an End

So Pee Wee T-Ball has officially come to an end.  Cooper and Chloe's last game was supposed to be last Friday, but after all the rain we've had they determined the field was still too damp, so they rescheduled for tonight.  Unfortunately, it was once again sprinkling outside, so they didn't get to play at the real baseball diamond, but we got moved inside the rec center gym, which was pretty interesting...

Of course it was a new environment so all the kids got amped up and going crazy, plus they had some miniature jungle gym sort of play thing in there which the kids all flocked too.  It was kind of like a small version of the tubes you would find at McDonald's PlayPlace except there was only one entrance/exit combo thing, which was  a slide.  It had like 6 compartments that you climb through like a maze, but was super tiny like for kids under 4 I'd say.  To me it just screamed fire hazard.  First off, the mesh was colored either blue, yellow or red, and both blue and yellow were extremely difficult to see through, so you could hardly tell where in the maze your child was.  Then each of the compartments was so small I'd be nearly impossible for an adult to climb through to get their child.  Not to mention the one entrance/exit combo thing.  If there was a fire or some sort of emergency situation and you needed to get your chlid out quickly you'd be in BIG trouble.  At least the things at McDonald's are plenty big enough for parents to navigate and get to their children.  Anyway, that's my little "mommy rant" for the day.  We let Bro play on the slide part and Cooper and Chloe went in there for a bit, but luckily we were able to coax them out just as the game was starting.

Brodie on the play maze slide
It was a little difficult tonight just because all the kids wanted to run throughout the gym and get back into the play maze, so attentions were definitely elsewhere.  Brodie gave my mom a run for her money, refusing to be held and running around like a mad man.  She said he was watching the other boys play basketball on the other end and desperately wanted to join.  It sucks that he's not quite old enough to do the things Cooper and Chloe are already doing, but it won't be long until he's right there with them.

We got through the game though then kids high fived the other team and got their medals.  There is room on the back for engraving so eventually we may have them engraved with their names and year. We also got their sports pics back which turned out adorable and hilarious at the same time.  In the team pic both Coop and Chloe are just hanging out, doing their own thing.  Chloe did great for her individual pic and posed just like the photographer instructed.  She had the perfect little pose and smile and looks just like the adorable little diva that she is!  Cooper on the other hand had just been awoken from a nap in the car and wanted nothing what-so-ever to do with picture taking. He wouldn't pose by himself at all, but luckily the photographer worked with us and thought to have him sit on Josh's knee, then crop Josh out as best as possible.  Even though we got him in front of the camera he most certainly wasn't going to smile so we got the most hilarious "I'm not going to do anything you say" face ever.  Almost looks like an "angry sports shot" like, "I'm gonna kick your butt dude!"  Freakin' funny!

Just received their medals

After the game they got snacks and snow cones and Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Papa checked out their pics.  Overall I think it was a very successful season. I think the kids learned a lot about team play and team work, following directions, and taking turns.  In general I think it was just a very good learning experience and as much as I miss all my kids being "babies" (yes, even my little Brodacious is considered a toddler now *tear*) it's neat that they're in a stage where they can start participating in things like this. They really do grow up so fast, but it's such a thrill to watch!

  1. HAHA Yes, Tanya loves the space maze! Its always her first priority when she attends toddler time. But the sides all either zip or snap off so its easy access to the kids.

What a fun experience for the kids! I LOVE Coopers FACE! That's just so funny! Chloe posed just so perfectly! How fun!

  2. Yeah I noticed the ball pit area zipped open and closed, but I didn't see anything anywhere else. Of course the entire back and one side was wedged up against the gym wall though. One of the rec center ladies says they've had to go in there after kids several times because they've gotten lost and scared. Seems a bit dangerous to me, but that's probably because I'd have THREE kids to pull out of there LOL
